Welcome to the Franziskaner

The Franziskaner, a traditional restaurant in Munich, offers facilities for company or family Christmas celebrations of 20 to 300 people. We can provide a cozy Bavarian atmosphere or elegant furnishings, a brass band or a DJ. Here, practically anything is possible. Our administrative staff and I (Florian Kunz) are always hard at work turning your wishes and expectations into reality. Working as a team, we will create a relaxed holiday ambience in which you, your employees or business partners, friends, and family members can experience an unforgettable Christmas celebration.

Wintery mulled wine reception for your guests

We’re happy to offer you the option of greeting your guests with homemade mulled wine when they enter our courtyard. This is particularly suitable for Christmas celebrations with more than 10 guests. This popular gathering place is ideally set up for a warm welcome; you can book it exclusively for bigger events. Because it gets cold in the winter, as we all know, we’ve also added heaters in our outdoor area to make sure nobody freezes.

We offer you Bavarian specialties to suit your tastes for your Christmas party here at the Franziskaner in Munich. Our classic include Bavarian free-range duck from the grill (menu 1), our famously tender suckling pig rib-eyes (menu 2), and our Schmankerlpfandl (menu 3) skillet featuring a wide variety of our meat dishes.

We serve our main courses with homemade sides, such as potato dumplings, bread dumplings, fresh Bavarian sauerkraut, stewed red cabbage and apples, warm bacon-and-cabbage salad, and much more. To finish off the evening with a flourish, we also offer our homemade Kaiserschmarrn with plum compote and applesauce. Our guests often have individual preferences and requests for our menu and dishes (vegetarianism, veganism, or allergies). We’re just as flexible when this is the case, and are happy to discuss individual menu preferences with you. Our head chef Christian Bassimir is very experienced and will ensure that your guests get the chance to enjoy his creative delicacies.

For more than 50 years now, the Franziskaner restaurant in Munich and its highly competent waitstaff have organized countless custom events all year round.
